Layreader
Corps
The
Christ Church Layreader Corps consists of several different classes:
Licensed
Layreaders are certified by the bishop, with the recommendation of the rector,
to lead worship services, usually Morning Prayer.
Licensed
Chalice Assistants are certified by the Bishop, with the recommendation of the
rector, to administer the Chalice at Holy Communion.
Lectors
are appointed by the rector to read lessons, lead psalms, and read the Prayers
of the People and other prayers when permitted at worship services.
