Wednesdays Year around 12 noon - Holy Eucharist
Peace Be With You"Friend,
you have come to this Church, leave it not without a prayer. No one
entering a house ignores him who dwells in it. This is the house of God
and He is here. Pray then to Him who loves and bids you welcome and
awaits your greeting. Give thanks for those who, dying that we might
live, have preserved for us our heritage. Praise God for his gift of
beauty in paint, architecture, handicraft and music. Ask that we who now
live may build up the spiritual fabric of the nation in truth, beauty, and
goodness and that as we draw near to the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ
we may draw nearer to one another. The Lord preserve thy going out and
thy coming in."
Our Understanding of WorshipWorship is an Offering to God It is both our offering to God and the way that the corporate Body of Christ enters into the presence of God. Thus, worship should involve the mind as well as the heart. Our worship is an intentional blend or convergence of the major expressions of spirituality in the church: Liturgical, and Spirit-filled. Each church has a distinct character. God has blessed Christ Church with powerful worship and the gift of healing. Christ Church is a Worshiping Place You will experience a profound sense of peace and love in our worship. There is a warmth in the way that people greet one another that is a shelter from the harshness of our everyday lives. The music is a wonderful example of traditional fare. Traditional music often speaks to the mind, giving us a solid foundation to express those deep truths about God and to God that give our lives stability. You will truly leave the service feeling better than when you came. Christ Church is a Healing Place "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Just as Jesus healed bodies, souls, and spirits during his early ministry. we experience Jesus healing all sorts of conditions today: physical diseases and ailments, marriages, relationships, wounds of the soul. At Christ Church we provide prayer ministry at every worship service. We invite your prayers for those on our Current Prayer List and others known only to you. If you know of anyone who should be on our prayer list, please contact The Rev. Michael Snider or our office at 304-327-6861. The church office is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. If you are unable to contact the office in an emergency, please contact our senior warden, David Kersey, at 304-325-7971.

What is our 10:00 Service Like ? This is our only Sunday service and serves both individuals and families. In addition to the Holy Eucharist, Rite II, we praise God with wonderful music. This is our liturgical and spirit-filled service that Christ Church is so well known for and so meaningful to many who are searching for the understanding, love and healing that comes from having a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. During Advent and Lent, this service is changed to Rite I. Check the calendar page for more up-to-date information about our services. What about Sunday School? We have Sunday School for all ages. Classes for children begin at 9:200 a.m. from September through May for the younger children. A baby sitter is provided for your convenience. Adult and Youth Sunday School takes place at 9:00 a.m. Check out the Sunday School page for more information. More information can be found at the top of this page. Come join us as we encounter the living Christ. You will encounter God in a profound way. I was
glad when they said unto me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord." |
