Holy Baptism
Holy Baptism is the rite of entrance into the Christian faith. It is an affirmation that the future of humankind is rooted in God’s love. It is our belief that all who desire to enter the church should be baptized "in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Holy Baptism is a time of joy and welcome into the community of faith. It is also a rebirth – and the beginning of life as a follower of Jesus. It offers the opportunity to renew or deepen the spiritual journey for everyone involved.
As Episcopalians, we do not see our faith as the only means of salvation. Therefore, anyone baptized in any Trinitarian Christian tradition are considered members of Christ's one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church.
Because baptism is the entrance into the community of faith we do not offer private baptism. Instead, baptisms are properly conducted during worship when the entire community has an opportunity to participate and pledge their support toward the faith journey of the one being baptized.
If you are interested in baptism for yourself, your child, or another loved one, please speak with our clergy to learn more.
